re-post

so I haven't posted anything in forever, but I found an old post that I am re-posting it because it is still so revelant to my daily life. I am also posting comments people made because they are so true and made me laugh right out loud! I love all of my friends and those that are moms that struggle with the same things as all of us moms....
Whoever tells you that being a mom is a glamorous job..is just...well...LYING! I don't know if its the loads and loads of laundry that are piling up, the dishes that seem to never end, how the house is constantly a mess, that my husband isn't home, the grocery shopping needs to get done, bills need to get paid, but I am just tired! Do you other moms every feel this way? Do things just get overwhelming sometimes for you? Does this feeling ever end? I am grateful though..I have such a wonderful family and I see the fruits of my labors, I guess I just needed to vent a little. As women we have so much on our plate so much on our minds and so much pressure on us. I am reminded by something that my sweet husband told me not to long ago...you don't answer to anyone but the Lord! It's not always easy for me to remember that, but when I start feeling bad for myself and overwhelmed his counsel pops into my head.

COMMENTS:
Funny you mention this, I've been thinking some of the same things AND a friend of mine posted something similar on her blog, maybe it's going around like a cold or the flu...Here's what I think:
1. It's OK to feel that way sometimes and I think ALL mom's/women feel that way at one time or another!
2. And not to get all preachy or anything but I firmly believe that Satan would like us to feel inadequate and discouraged, he needs to break down the family to accomplish the things he wants too.
3.I recently read somewhere about giving up the idea of making everything perfect and just embracing the idea that sometimes OK is good enough, which led the author to feel happier.
Anyway...thanks for sharing and don't be too discouraged!

I think it must be going around like the flu. I keep thinking that tomorrow will be different but when I wake up but it never is and often it's even worse. I agree with the prevous coment that it is satan trying to get us down. I don't have any ideas but just an amen sister I feel your pain.

Dishes? Laundry? Mine are always done and I wear heels while I'm doing it! Of course, that's only after I got up early to work out, read and played with my children and made love to my husband!!!
HAHAHA!
There's just not enough time in the day...I love Cory's advice. I really did have to let go of what people think of me. If someone stops by at 2:00 and I'm still in work out clothes, my kids still in jammies and breakfast and lunch dishes still in the sink, I don't apologize. That is me, like or not, take it or leave it. I'm not perfect and I won't judge you for not being either!!

'm like Kim, My house is always clean, My kids are always perfect, and I Never lose my temper with them! Um, yeah right!
I like what Kelli said especally #2 - I screwed up everyday, but I don't let it bring me down. I just try each day to do my best and know that it's okay (and I truly live stress free!)

Kelly- according to Isaac- you make motherhood GLAMOROUS! I JUST LOVE YOU and you want to know the reason- YOU ARE SO REAL- YOU ARE SUCH A GENUINE PERSON- and you are a ton of fun- that is what your kids are going to relish about you as a mother- is that you really made their childhood fun and full of fun memories- especially when you are struggling with Corys schedule & the awesome student budget! That is why I just really admire you because you seem to find joy in your life- despite imperfect situations! I just think you are great!

My personal favorite:

Bryan: Do I have a pressed shirt to wear?

MJ: Umm, It is in the dryer- I proably need to fluff it.

Bryan: Hey, I have an idea- why not make it easy on yourself and try a little thing called the dry cleaners!

MJ: I"M FLUFFING YOUR SHIRT RIGHT NOW+ AND I'm NOT DRIVING TO THE FLIPPING DRY CLEANERS! WHY cAN"T people be happy with their NEWLY FLUFFED SHIRTS!

I just am sayin... perfection is over RATED!
aye yi yi!

So good to read this entry today because I am definitely having one of those days. Hmmm . . . still not unpacked from our trip, laundry to rotate, enrichment meeting to prep for, piano accompaniment to practice for, dusty, dusty shelves . . . but instead I watched American Idol and now I'm catching up on everyone's blogs. I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels tired and overwhelmed sometimes. It's always great to have each other to support.
